- the american technology is bar none the best in world. for small easy stuff, yes, canada or mexico is better. but for life saving open heart surgery, the united states is number one, no question
- People are desperate, things are not as they appear, America needs to reform. Obama is not going to be the one that leads us to the political reforms common Americans desperately need.
- This goes on all of the time. We have tried since Truman to get healthcare reform in this country.
- maybe he is just cheap.
- Because what we have is a broken system. Back before any government interference in health care, it was pretty cheap. Doctors, hospitals, and etcetera were in constant competition offering quality care at an affordable price. People were inventing and introducing new devices and such into the health care industry and were making money because of it. This is primarily because the free market always delivers goods/services a lot better than inefficient bureaucrats do.
- Here is the problem with what you posted. Your post does not jibe with your attempted conclusion. It does not say that he is crossing the border for better health care. It says he is crossing the border for lower cost of out of pocket expenses. I don't think you will find anyone who says that the cost of health care is not a problem in this country. However cost has nothing to do directly with overall quality.
- American health care is mediocre. About 31st overall in the world. Mexico and Canada's health care are a lot better and cheaper, so they come to Canada and Mexico.
- Yeah, we also get loads of Americans actually coming to the UK to avail themselves of our National Health Service, because they are ininsured or can't afford care at home.
- He's "American" and unpatriotic" and a "home-grown terrorist" and " fooled by the Dem's lies" he just doesn't know what he's doing! Come back home and mortgage your house and get "the world's greatest" Medical care. Doesn't he know that "World Leaders" fly from around the world to get care here?
- Look buddy I came from Canada and they are going the other way! My brother died because he was "to young to have cancer" and he died of cancer. Do you know what a facility code red is? They close the ER because there are to many patients to save!
- They can't explain it. The obvious escapes them, somehow. I have many friends and acquaintances who do this very same thing, because they can't afford the co-pays and deductibles required to get services here in the US. Now that Obama is taking the public option off the table to please the Republicans, he is replacing it with health insurance co-ops. Now how is that going to work? Most of us can't get insurance because of preexisting conditions, or we just can't afford the premiums. Has anyone ever done the math on this? I know that Republicans haven't, because there's not much math in the Bible, I guess.
