Indemnity Dental Insurance
When you need dental insurance, you need to consider the option of indemnity insurance. This is the most common type of insurance; you are probably already familiar with how it works. You go to Dr. A., a dentist. You have insurance from Provider 1, either privately or through your place of work. Dr. A. charges $50 for cleaning your teeth. If you have indemnity dental insurance, Provider 1 is going to pay the dentist $50 for cleaning your teeth. If you do not have indemnity insurance, you are responsible for paying Dr. A. $50, then submitting a claim to Provider 1 requesting reimbursement of $50. While regular providers deal with the dentist directly, indemnity insurance is based on reimbursement.
